Position Overview Located at our Scarborough facility, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the movement of goods, services, information, and control of import/export for national and international transactions are performed in the most cost-effective and timely manner. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable and understand import/export rules and regulations, acts, and permits for both commercial and government transactions. This role reports directly to the logistics and 3PL Manager. Major Responsibilities

  • Possess advanced knowledge and understanding of import/export rules and regulations, acts, documentation, and terms for both commercial and government transactions (USMCA/CUSMA, CETA, Incoterms, Import and Export Permit Acts, CERS, Carnet ATA, COO, etc.) and be able to advise, implement, and follow as required.
  • Perform transactional and follow-through activities to manage all inbound and outbound shipments to/from Canada/US/Europe, and 3PL’s.
  • Work and negotiate with carriers, forwarders, and customs brokers.
  • Prioritize and coordinate work activities to meet customer demands and special projects as required.
  • Maintain a cooperative, productive work environment.
  • Respond to difficult and stressful situations effectively and positively.
  • Resolve issues regarding: Freight, Customs, Invoicing, and Data Transmission.
  • Respond to commercial requests with a high sense of urgency.

Skills And Experience

  • Three to five years’ experience in an international export logistics environment is required.
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in operations/purchasing/logistics/transportation.
  • Individuals who come from a manufacturing environment with experience using TMS with API/EDI system integrations and/or ISO mindset would be an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, able to influence and explain processes in a detailed manner.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, manage and shift priorities to better support teamwork.
  • Must be a dependable team player and work well with others in a professional manner.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
