You will be part of a growing global technology company that encourages teamwork and innovation, and where friendships are forged with colleagues all over the world. At March Networks, we value your hard work, creativity and your passionate desire to deliver only the best to our customers, partners and each other. Opportunity: As part of our R&D team, the Sr. Hardware Designer will lead the development of March Networks' next generation AI video surveillance products, collaborating with our international partners in Asia. This role offers the unique opportunity to bridge technical expertise with cross-cultural collaboration, bringing new ideas, knowledge, and expertise to a global team of software and hardware engineers. The ideal candidate has extensive experience designing mixed analog and digital board designs from concept to mass production, with demonstrated success working across different cultural contexts. You have experience building small scale FPGA sub-systems, which include design elements with multiple clock domains, high speed memory, and soft IP core integration. You are a problem solver who excels at communicating technical concepts across language and cultural barriers, and enjoy working with electrical, mechanical, compliance, component and software engineers from diverse backgrounds to debug system-wide problems. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a cross-functional team to design and debug various electrical circuit assembly boards, coordinating efforts between local teams and international partners in Asia
  • Oversee schematic capture and layout supervision, providing guidance to both local and international team members
  • Design and test hardware solutions considering power efficiency and high-speed signal integrity
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with international engineering teams to ensure alignment on technical specifications and project timelines
  • Troubleshoot FPGA designs including system architecture, RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, and timing
  • Conduct compliance reviews to ensure designs meet international regulatory standards (FCC, CE, UL) across global markets
  • Manage EMC/EMI testing and work with international teams to address regional compliance variations
  • Write hardware design proposals, specifications, and work instructions that can be clearly understood across cultural and language barriers
  • Support prototype and mass production contract manufacturers in Asia, ensuring high quality products are brought to market
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer between global engineering teams to promote best practices and technical excellence

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience designing complex electronic systems
  • Proficient in designing, executing and testing circuit card level designs taking into consideration derating, worst case, reliability, compliance, and power budget requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with FPGA design, including RTL development, simulation, and timing analysis
  • Experience working with international teams: strong cross-cultural communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate across language barriers
  • Experience managing compliance requirements across different international markets
  • Proven track record of bringing products from concept to mass production in global manufacturing environments

Assets:

  • Experience working with system on chip, high speed memory, and video pre/post processing technologies
  • Experience with video surveillance and network products
  • Experience designing consumer electronics with focus on cost effectiveness
  • Knowledge of international compliance standards and certification processes
  • Experience with cross-cultural technical communication and documentation
  • Proficiency in managing remote design teams across different time zones
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin, considered a strong asset
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to bridge cultural differences
  • Proficiency with industry-standard hardware design tools (Cadence, OrCAD, PADS, or similar PCB design software) as well as FPGA development environments such as Vivado and ISE
