Position Summary Magellan Aerospace has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time permanent Energy and Sustainability Coordinator at our manufacturing hub in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Reporting to the Environment Specialist, the Energy and Sustainability Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of strategic energy and sustainability management and improvements to Magellan’s Winnipeg and Rockwood, MB sites in accordance and collaboration with Efficiency Manitoba and other federal programs. The Energy and Sustainability Coordinator will work with various departments to guide the energy management portfolio through business case development, financial planning, implementation and energy assessments. Essential Responsibilities
- Assist the Environmental Specialist and Quality Director to maintain Environmental Management System core elements to ensure compliance with ISO 14001 standard for continued certification
- Develop and implement employee awareness training on best energy management practices
- Ensure Magellan meets stakeholder requirements, including maintaining data and preparing reports as required
- Oversee building and process energy audits and make recommendations for a resource, waste management and procurement plan to address gaps and achieve goals
- Liaise with operations and facilities to ensure successful integration of conservation equipment and systems into new and upgraded buildings and processes
- Research and participate in the selection of efficient technologies for building renovations and process improvements and project manage or assist in implementing identified improvement plans and initiatives
- Research and submit applications for available grants and incentive funding from Efficiency Manitoba and various government agencies for energy conservation and other sustainability initiatives
- Produce communication updates for internal and external audiences, highlighting Magellan’s accomplishments towards energy and resource conservation
- Create and present monthly reports to various groups and committees.
Position Requirements
- Must be a professional engineer, preferably in mechanical or electrical, with 3+ years of experience in energy engineering, energy management, energy-efficient design of industrial systems and processes, environmental engineering or facility operations; OR a Certified Engineering Technician (CET) with 5+ years of experience in energy engineering, energy management, energy-efficient design of industrial systems and processes, environmental engineering or facility operation; OR possess other relevant post-secondary education with 5+ years’ experience in environmental management, energy engineering, energy management, energy efficient design of industrial systems and processes or facility operations
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- ISO 50001 and/or140001 standard and/or Energy Auditing certification or experience considered an asset
