Who we are looking for:
A relentlessly value-focused Vice President Commercial who will own and drive top-line growth. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of the executive team, this leader will be held accountable for hitting, and exceeding, annual revenue, gross margin, and market-share targets. You will build and lead a high-performance commercial team: converting channel partners into growth multipliers and ensuring that our brand translates into measurable pipeline and sales. This is a revenue-first role for a professional who thrives on building and scaling commercial organizations from the ground up.
Your responsibilities:
As the commercial leader, your success will be measured by revenue growth. Your prioritized responsibilities include:
- Drive top-line revenue growth: Through direct B2B sales and sales leadership - own and deliver ambitious sales targets, gross margin goals, and market-share gains.
- Recruit, build, and lead a target-carrying sales team and revenue-focused marketing team, instilling a performance culture with clear individual targets, rigorous pipeline management, and a relentless drive to close.
- Build a rigorous annual revenue plan including product launches, quarterly sales forecasts, territory targets, pricing strategy, and channel economics, reporting performance directly to the CEO and board with full accountability for results.
- Aggressively expand the distributor, retail, and grower network: prospecting, signing, and activating new channel partners who drive volume and accelerate revenue growth across the region.
- Direct the marketing function: brand, product marketing, demand generation, digital, agronomic content and trade marketing, with a clear mandate to generate qualified pipeline, support channel sell-through, and shorten the sales cycle for Soileos.
- Partner with R&D, production, and supply chain to align sales forecasts with production capacity, ensuring the business can fulfill the demand you generate and feeding winning customer insights back into the product roadmap.
You will be a great match if you have these skills & experience:
- You have a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, science, business or marketing; an MBA or advanced agronomy credential is an asset.
- You bring 15+ years of progressive commercial experience with a demonstrated sales-first orientation, including 5+ years in senior sales with direct sales target ownership.
- You bring strong knowledge of the agricultural value chain: growers, agronomists, ag-retail and distribution.
- You have built and scaled a commercial organization and distribution network.
- You have a documented track record of consistently exceeding revenue, margin and market-share targets across diverse territories; you bring the numbers to prove it.
- You know how to turn relationships into revenue, building trust with distributors, retail partners, agronomists, and growers and converting those relationships into long-term, growing accounts.
- You are equally comfortable closing a deal in the field and presenting revenue strategy to the board; you set the vision and you do the work to make it happen.
- You are willing to travel extensively across Canada and the United States to be close to partners, growers and the field.
