Quality Assurance Business Analyst

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst / Business Analyst for a 6-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer.

Key Tasks

• QA Operations
• Create and execute test plans and scripts that will validate application/system performance according to specifications
• Ensure that software quality measures comply with industry standards and accepted best practices and drive a quality-first approach to software development and delivery
• Investigate and document repro steps for customer complaints and non-conformance issues
• Suggest solutions to resolve product quality issues and achieve improved customer satisfaction
• Collaborate with other Technology Solutions teams in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods
• Identify quality assurance process bottlenecks and suggest actions for improvement
• Participate in continuous improvement projects
• Apply established metrics to determine the readiness, quality, and operability of software, systems, and products due for release to members and/or within the enterprise
• Conduct internal audits to measure and assure adherence to established QA standards for software development, application integration, and information system performance, and corresponding documentation
• Use existing ticketing systems to manage ticket status and tracking
• Stay up to date with emerging QA technologies and best practices

• Business Analysis
• Represent, interface and engage with business users to understand their needs
• Clearly communicate and document all business decisions, requirements, workflows, and other needed project documentation
• Create user stories and acceptance tests and develop product documentation
• Provide high-level quality client services to both internal and external clients by responding in a timely, respectful, constructive and responsive matter

Key Qualifications

• 8-10+ years experience as Business Analyst and Quality Assurance Analyst for IT-related projects focused on Corporate Enterprise Applications (COTS and ERP)
• Strong documentation skills and experience to support all business decisions, requirements, workflows, and other needed project documentation
• Experience in manual QA testing processes (create/execute test plans and scripts) – strong manual test case writing is a must

Qualifications

• University degree or College diploma with specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management or related discipline
• Knowledge of project management methodologies, specifically Agile SCRUM
• Knowledge and experience with existing requirements management, test plan design, bug tracking, ticketing, and Agile project management systems
• Member/client/stakeholder focused experience

Assets

• Test Automation knowledge and skills
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM testing is a definite asset (Sales and Customer Experience Modules)
• Experience supporting the testing related to a Corporate website re-factoring is an asset
