Your role will be crucial not only in managing our current IT landscape across all our subsidiaries in multiple countries, but also in the integration of AI technologies, ensuring that our organization remains at the cutting edge of industry developments.
You will be pivotal in shaping our IT landscape, proactively anticipating future needs and resolving challenges before they arise. Additionally, once the manager retires, you will likely be tasked with overseeing a small team, providing guidance and mentorship to drive collective success. In this leadership position, you'll inspire your team to embrace AI, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement and navigating the complexities of integrating AI into our existing systems and workflows, setting new standards for excellence within our IT department.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and configure computers, mobile devices, user accounts and access for new employees.
- Provide responsive helpdesk, deskside and remote technical support to employees across multiple offices and locations.
- Administer and maintain Windows servers, virtualization environments and related infrastructure.
- Support Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration, including user access, permissions and account management.
- Monitor and maintain backup systems and assist with backup administration and recovery processes.
- Support network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Maintain existing systems while supporting data consolidation and the continued transition to cloud-based infrastructure.
- Assist with Azure, SharePoint, web server and Linux-based environments, including NGINX web server/proxy technologies.
- Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, including AI tools, with consideration for security, reliability and business value.
Position Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Systems, Network Administration or a related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in IT support, systems administration or a similar technical role.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows 11 desktop environments and Windows Server administration.
- Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience managing or supporting network devices, including switches and firewalls.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure or services, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with SharePoint administration and web server environments.
- Familiarity with Linux environments, particularly NGINX web server/proxy technologies.
- Scripting or automation experience in at least one language or toolset.
- Familiarity with virtualization and backup technologies.
- General understanding of AI concepts, applications and emerging workplace use cases.
