Your new company
Our client is a Vancouver-based real estate company with over 50 years of experience. They specialize in investing, managing, and developing various types of properties, including industrial, self-storage, residential, office, and retail spaces across Western Canada. Their approach is vertically integrated, meaning they handle everything from investment to development to management. This company is seeing a Property Administrator Assistant for a 12-month fixed term contract (with the potential to go permanent).
Your new role
The Property Management Administrator role involves maintaining accurate property management tracking sheets, reviewing reports, and supporting tax administration by managing critical dates and declarations. It also includes organizing electronic files, assisting with planning and client relations, and preparing various departmental materials such as tenant communications and presentations. The position requires administrative oversight for commercial and residential properties, including budgeting assistance, tenant engagement, contractor coordination, and report generation from management software. Additional responsibilities encompass tracking vendor compliance with insurance and safety regulations, liaising with leasing and accounting for billing accuracy, and supporting onboarding and disposition of properties. The role also ensures effective communication with stakeholders, facilitates document handling, and provides coverage during high-volume periods.
What you need to succeed
The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in a fast-paced administrative role, preferably in property management, leasing, asset management, or real estate administration. They should have a strong interest in pursuing a career in commercial or multi-family residential rental property management. Proficiency in DocuSign and Adobe Acrobat, along with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential. Familiarity with collaboration tools like Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and OneNote is also required. Experience with data management systems such as MRI Angus and Yardi is an asset. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate integrity, diplomacy, and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive situations. The candidate should be customer-service oriented, highly motivated, and an effective communicator who thrives both independently and in team environments.
What you get in return
This role offers a competitive salary of $60,000–$65,000, depending on experience, plus a bonus. Additional benefits include three weeks of vacation, with an extended break between Christmas and New Year, a comprehensive health package, and a hybrid work policy. While this is a 12-month fixed-term position, there is potential for it to become permanent. The company fosters a dynamic and social environment, balancing dedication and enjoyment in the workplace.
