The role of the HR Manager is responsible for oversee human resources functions within a specific province or regional division of the company. This role blends strategic oversight with localized execution of HR policies, ensuring consistency with national or corporate HR standards while adapting to federal labour laws, culture, and workforce needs. - Be a trusted advisor to employees, supporting them on day-to-day HR matters, company policies, procedures, and benefit-related inquiries.
- Find proactive and creative solutions for a broad range of day-to-day HR issues that surface.
- Researching compensation and facilitating discussions related to compensation.
- Assisting in shaping employee recognition programs and social events to help drive the company culture.
- Coaching leaders regarding HR matters.
- Overseeing the disciplinary process.
- Contribute to developing, implementing and standardizing policies across the company.
- Help with positioning the HR function as a strategic partner.
- Contribute to implementing and maintaining HR processes.
- Develop and maintain projects to support the group of businesses in business initiatives, strategy, and culture.
- Remaining aware of employee training & development needs.
- Sharing your knowledge of HR legislation and Federal Regulations.
- Help drive and support select HR initiatives from concept, successful execution and rollout strategies.
- Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate and updated electronic employee records & files, assuring compliance with all applicable governmental regulations.
- Run reports and gather data for metrics and other reporting purposes.
- Support performance management process, complex employee matters and departure process when necessary.
- Lead and support various HR initiatives throughout the year aimed at strengthening collaboration between employees and leadership.
- Monitor and analyze key HR performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate department effectiveness and support data-driven decision-making.
- Travel up to 50%-80% of the work week using a company-provided vehicle (To follow company policy) to support HR operations across multiple terminal locations in Quebec.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent negotiation and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
- Proven experience in HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
- Experience in a specific industry (e.g., transportation, logistics, manufacturing) is a plus.
