Based in Ottawa, Ontario, or Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, the Senior Program Manager - Naval Programs will report to the Director of Defence and play a critical role in the growth and execution of Gastops’ naval business. This individual will lead the successful execution of Gastops’ existing marine programs, and provide support to the business unit in identifying, pursuing, and securing strategic opportunities within the global naval and coast guard markets
The successful candidate will serve as a bridge between business development and program execution, helping shape opportunities during the pursuit phase and then transitioning into program leadership roles as contracts are awarded. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence some of Canada’s most significant naval programs while building long-term relationships with customers, partners, shipyards, and government stakeholders.
What You’ll Do:
The Program Manager will be part of our Energy, Marine and Land Business Unit with the primary focus of representing the entire range of Gastops products and services to our customers, ensuring our customer’s needs and expectations are met. You will handle:
Program Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the transition of newly awarded opportunities from capture into execution, establishing the plans, governance, resources and customer relationships required for long term success.
- Lead the planning and execution of assigned programs, including Dynamic Response Analysis (DRA), SIM-STIM, Naval products, and related engineering services initiatives, from contract award through delivery.
- Work in partnership with Gastops project management office to manage program scope, schedule, budget, risks, and customer expectations. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Support the pursuit of domestic and international strategic naval and coast guard opportunities
- Assist with customer engagement, capture planning, proposal development, and partnership activities.
- Help position Gastops' capabilities with customers, shipyards, OEMs, and industry partners.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with customers, partners, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Represent Gastops during program reviews, customer meetings, and industry events.
- Communicate program status, risks, opportunities, and achievements to management and customers.
- Support program forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and support contract negotiations, amendments, and follow-on opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of program management processes, tools, and best practices that support the continued growth of Gastops.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline with 10+ years of demonstrated project or program management experience within the naval marine, or naval shipbuilding industries. In addition, the ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written; fluency in French is an asset.
- Eligible to obtain a Security Clearance (NATO Level Clearance)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is preferred, but not required
- Experience working with government, defence, marine, shipbuilding, or industrial customers
- Ability to travel as required (:25%) within Canada and internationally

- Salary Range for this position: $120,000.00 – $160,000.00 (final compensation will be based on experience, skills, and fit)
