REG - Operations Manager Saskatchewan

Job Title: Operations Manager Saskatchewan – (Regina Based Position) Department: Dedicated Logistics Reports to: Saskatchewan Area Manager Summary The Saskatchewan Operations Manager is responsible to ensure Dedicated Logistics operations meet customer requirements while effectively managing operating costs as efficiently as possible. The Saskatchewan Operations Manager will oversee all Saskatchewan based dispatch and driving personnel and will actively manage equipment resources to ensure assets are utilized and maintained in an efficient manner. Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of Saskatchewan based dispatch operations.
• Responsible for overseeing customer on-time performance and compliance metrics.
• Oversee CP master dispatch plan and ensure accuracy of CP billing and driver payables.
• Oversee backhaul freight from Saskatchewan to Manitoba (often billed through logistics but can use either Gardewine assets, customer assets or subcontracted 3PL assets).
• As required, to assist with the coordination and billing of 3PL logistics shipments moving in our out of Saskatchewan.
• Ensure effective cost management of the Saskatchewan Dedicated Logistics operations. This includes effectively managing employee overtime and subcontract costs in addition to empty miles.
• Maintain good working relationships with 3PL carriers based in Saskatchewan.
• Practice and promote a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with all Gardewine’s corporate H&S procedures. This includes completing preliminary incident reports and passing along findings to Driver Services Coordinator – Saskatchewan.
• Facilitate equipment maintenance activities with corporate maintenance department.
• Work closely with the Saskatchewan Area Manager to ensure streamlined billing processes are in place to confirm all revenue is captured in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assist with the implementation of technological resources to improve accuracy and reduce redundancy of administrative processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualification requirements Post-secondary education preferred or equivalent with good communication, organizational and technological skills. Good record keeping skills for maintenance of equipment, scheduling of staff and verifying employee payment accuracy. Valid driver’s license is required with a Class 1 license being preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to work full time in an office environment but also be capable of lifting up to 50 LBS should occasional assistance need to be provided with freight operations. Ability to attend to emergency matters after hours is also a requirement of this position.
