Accounts Payable Clerk

Our client, a contractor that delivers specialized solutions in construction, is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support their finance team. The successful candidate will oversee accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, managing vendor records, and supporting reconciliations and reporting.

No prior experience necessary - they'll train the right person who brings a sharp attention to detail, solid math skills, problem-solving chops, a hunger to learn, and the ability to handle tech with ease.

This is an in-office position.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Monitor AP email, print and save all invoices
• Process a high volume of invoices, data entry ensuring accuracy and appropriate approvals
• Code and Data entry for employee expenses
• Visa data entry for company card and 3 executives
• Month end Visa processing for all card holders
• Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
• Maintain vendor files and ensure information is current and accurate
• Reconcile supplier statements
• Match invoices with payments
• Prep Cheques for mail
• Prepare electronic transfers and payments
• File processed invoices and payments
• Cover front reception for lunch breaks and absentees
• Other tasks as assigned

Required skills and qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant coursework in accounting/finance is an asset
• Previous experience in accounts payable or general accounting is desirable
• Proficiency in Maestro and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is preferred
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively
• Comfortable with filing

Wage: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 5:00pm
