The Mission
As our Director of Franchise Partnerships, you are the primary gatekeeper of our culture and our commercial integrity. You won't be sitting behind a desk waiting for leads to click an ad. You’ll be in the field, "knocking on doors," walking sites, and finding the entrepreneurial spirits who belong in the Edo family.
Who You Are
- The "Anti-Salesperson": You despise high-pressure tactics. You are a master listener who hears what isn't being said. Your "close" is a natural byproduct of a transparent mutual evaluation.
- An Entrepreneurial Hunter: you have a "founder’s mindset." You are constantly thinking outside the box to find new leads - whether that’s walking into a local QSR to meet an owner or networking at a local business mixer.
- A Field General: You are at home on a construction site or a busy street corner. You can look at a trade area and project "daypart" performance (lunch vs. dinner) with surgical precision.
- A Disciplined Advocate: You have the backbone to maintain our standards. You believe in the future potential of Edo Japan too much to discount its value or negotiate away its integrity.
- Radically Responsive: You understand that for a prospective franchisee, this is a life-altering decision. You provide "concierge-level" support, responding to inquiries with urgency and care whenever they arise - day, evening, or weekend.
What You’ll Do
- Grassroots Lead Gen: Proactively identify and engage high-potential partners through direct outreach and networking.
- Consultative Discovery: Lead the end-to-end "Discovery Process," acting as a trusted advisor to help candidates evaluate their financial and lifestyle goals.
- Site & Market Intelligence: Lead physical site visits, dissecting trade areas and identifying competitive threats to ensure our partners win from Day 1.
- Operational Vetting: Use your deep restaurant expertise (7+ years leadership required) to ensure every candidate has the "grit" to thrive in our system.

Requirements
- 7+ years of senior leadership in the restaurant industry (Operations or Development).
- Based in Ontario with a willingness for frequent field travel and regular visits to our Calgary Head Office.
