Your Opportunity: The Unit Clerk reports to the Unit Manager of the Grey Nuns Community Hospital Child Health Clinic and is responsible for performing a wide range of clerical duties needed to support patient care activities. Responsibilities include managing telephone calls, booking appointments, maintaining accurate filing systems, as well as greeting, identifying, and direct patients, families, visitors, and allied health professionals. The Unit Clerk manages patient records and charts, ensuring an adequate level of office supplies for use by the inter-professional team. The Unit Clerk performs these tasks in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures, as well as the Mission, Vision and Values of Covenant Health. Please note: Classifications Under Review. Description: The Unit Clerk performs a variety of duties in support of the health care team including processing physician orders and liaising with other departments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.* Classification: Unit Clerk

- Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Must have a Certificate from a recognized training program which includes a practicum component. A course in Medical Terminology is required. Must have at least two to three years directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Additional Required Qualifications: Recent Unit Clerk experience on an acute care unit and/or ambulatory clinic setting required. Must have experience working with hospital-based computer systems and programs, specifically recent experience working with Connect Care. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain efficient while experiencing multiple interruptions. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must have the ability to prioritize clinic needs. Preferred Qualifications: Recent experience working with Connect Care in the outpatient setting preferred.
