Description: Description: The Medical Radiation Technologist I (MRT) performs all routine radiographic/fluoroscopic, computed tomography and interventional procedures. The MRT I also produces radiographs of high diagnostic quality in an efficient and safe manner while attending to the diagnostic and care needs of patients undergoing diagnostic/therapeutic procedures. The MRT I is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. • Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Radiological Technology program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) required. BLS (Level C - Health Care Provider) required. Additional Required Qualifications: Current, demonstrated competency in all General radiographic exams. Demonstrated awareness and competency in adaptive radiographic techniques. Current, demonstrated competency in the scanning of basic CT exams. Must possess a high degree of confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to be able to work within existing, clearly defined policies and procedures. Proven ability to work under pressure within a team in emergency situations. Experienced and committed to providing high quality student teaching and preceptorship. Involved in x-ray emitting procedures requiring the donning of leaded apparel weighing up to 9.5kg for up to 7.75 hours while assisting within the perimeter of a radiation field. Preferred Qualifications: Postgraduate experience preferred. Experience of operating a Siemens CT scanner preferred.
