Medical Receptionist and Pre Tester

Role Description This is a full-time permanent, on-site position located in East Ottawa, ON, for a Medical Receptionist and Pre Tester. The role involves performing front desk receptionist duties such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls with appropriate etiquette, direct billing Insurance companies, ordering contact lenses, taking payments and opening/closing the office. Additional responsibilities include pre-testing patients using diagnostic instruments, managing patient records, ensuring patient confidentiality, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations. Qualifications

• Proficiency in appointment scheduling and phone etiquette
• Experience with receptionist duties and customer service in a professional setting
• Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical office processes
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a team and provide a positive patient experience
• Previous experience in an optometric or medical office setting is an asset, but not mandatory
• Proficiency with office software and electronic health records is beneficial
• Ability to learn quickly and take initiative on a daily basis to ensure the office runs smoothly
• Must be able to commute to the office and work the hours of operation with no problem
• Strong communication skills in English. Bilingualism is an asset, but not mandatory.
