The Claims Supervisor is accountable for managing the unit operations, providing leadership and guidance to the claims staff in achievement of unit objectives. Work in collaboration and coordination with claims peers to deliver our objectives. Accountable for the leadership in delivering superior client service, employee engagement, controlling expenses, resource planning and people management for the unit. Responsible for overall staffing levels, human resources management, productivity, operational processes, and communication for their unit. How You Will Create Impact
- Create a client service culture and embed client engagement into the claims operation, inspiring and motivating the claims team to be THE industry leader in client engagement.
- Commit to coaching and inspiring staff to grow in their position, develop their skills and future potential. Responsible to ensure that development plans, coaching and mentoring are an integral part of the claim’s unit. Develop and maintain a succession plan for the unit.
- Responsible for human resource activities for direct reports including setting performance objectives, performance management, reward/recognition, and career development in partnership with staff.
- Manages workflows, productivity, operational standards, and processes ensuring adherence to practices and procedures. Develop and implement unit plans, goals, priorities, and schedules in accordance with National Standards/Legislation/Company Guidelines. Monitor, analyze and report on unit results.
- Responsible to enhance effectiveness of operational processes to provide consistent claims service delivery as well as proactive identification and implementation of continuous business process innovations and improvements. Provide input to the development and improvement of claims operational guidelines and processes.
- Provide leadership to the unit to manage change effectively and ensure a positive and supportive and professional work environment.
- Deliver ongoing communication to unit staff, distribution partners and other key stakeholders, management, and service partners in a consistent and timely manner.

To Join Our Team
- You have 5 years of disability claims case management experience
- You have 2 years experience in leadership
- You have a post secondary degree or University degree in Business Administration, Health Sciences or Disability Management.
- You have an Associate, Life and Health Claims (ALHC) designation.
- You have an expert understanding of disability claims management practices.
- You have an expert understanding of group disability insurance contracts.
- Proficiency in English is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority non-francophone clients, groups, teams. Drafting complex English documents and preparing daily reports for anglophone leaders. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
