Position Description
The Project Coordinator supports the Project Manager(s) and Superintendent(s) in all aspects of the construction process including monitoring project plans, schedules, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner.
The position will initially be based out of our main office in Edmonton, Alberta, with the role later shifting to a project site located near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Supporting project startups with responsibilities including but not limited to, tendering, and bid evaluations, subcontract preparation, utilities and site services applications, permit applications, quantity take-offs, assisting in development of the project communication plan and managing project schedule
- Project execution and document control responsibilities including Request for Information (RFI), Site Instructions (SI), Submittals, Change Requests (CRX), Change Orders (CO)
- Project closeout responsibilities including assisting with inspections, owner training, managing the O&M Manuals, reviewing, tracking, and communicating punch and deficiency lists, removing all insurance, closeout of utilities and site services, and removing temporary facilities
- Maintain the integrity of the QA/QC plan
- Facilitate, record and compile meeting minutes; follow up on action items
- Track productivity and performance of the project
- Project accounting basics
- Adhere to Clark Builders’ policies and procedures and aid others in compliance
- Support and grow ongoing trade partner and client relationships
- Bachelors' degree, diploma or 2-year certificate in a construction related discipline
- 2 + years’ experience working as a Project Coordinator within a Commercial, Industrial, or Institutional organization
- Direct experience coordinating large scale earthworks, roadworks, and/or below-grade utilities construction would be a strong asset
- Experience with Procore an asset
- Experience with Last Planner System an asset
- Experience with collaborative pull planning an asset
- Experience with various types of construction contracts
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Analytical thinker with ability to interpret complex information and recommend innovative solutions
- Capable of making complex, ambiguous and risk adverse decisions in a deadline-driven environment
- Understanding the principles of Lean thinking, collaborative planning, and continuous improvement
- The ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications
