**EVENT SERVICES SUPERVISORPOSITION OVERVIEW:**Love live events, great service, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes? We’re looking for an Event Services Supervisor to lead Front-of-House operations during performances and events at The ACT Arts Centre.In this role, you’ll oversee event services, bar operations, and event staff, including volunteers, to help deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality patron experiences. What You’ll Do: Lead Front-of-House operations during performances and events Oversee bar service and support food and beverage coordination Supervise event staff and volunteers Ensure compliance with responsible liquor service, food safety, and health and safety requirements Prepare event reports, track inventory, and support cash handling and reconciliation Help maintain excellent patron service standards and smooth event delivery Provide hands-on bar support as needed What you bring Experience supervising staff in hospitality, events, theatre Front-of-House, bar service, or a similar environment Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills Knowledge of B.C. liquor service requirements and responsible beverage service Experience with POS systems such as Square; ticketing system experience is an asset Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Word The ability to stay organized and lead effectively in a fast-paced environment REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Ability to plan, assign, schedule, monitor, and supervise the work of a mid-sized team of staff and volunteers, including providing guidance and on-the-job training. Ability to work rotating bar shifts, as required, in accordance with established bar policies and procedures. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Sound knowledge of B.C. Liquor Primary Licence requirements and responsible beverage service standards. Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems, including Square; experience with ticketing systems is an asset. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with particular strength in Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Word. Highly organized and effective team leader with strong interpersonal, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced event environment based on operational needs. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Post-secondary education in hospitality, bartending, food services, volunteer management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Recent related experience in customer service, theatre Front-of-House operations, hospitality, bar service, or restaurant service. Valid Serving It Right certification. Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification. Food Safe certification is preferred. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check. HOURS OF WORK: This position requires regular evening and weekend availability. The hours of work are approximately 10-15 hours per week. Hours of work will be 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday daytime. Shift lengths normally range from 4 to 6 hours. Additional hours may be required based on operational needs. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position may also be required to work bartending shifts and perform bartending and concession duties, including preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, concession items, and related products before performances, during events, and at intermission, while providing efficient, courteous, and professional customer service.
