Embedded Software Engineer P3

The DC United development team is seeking to extend its leadership in data center inter-connect. Ciena is leveraging its Wavelogic product family to create a new product line specifically adapted to this market. The DC United development team is seeking a candidate with strong software development skills as well as experience with Layer 2 device control and protocols and good system level understanding. The desired candidate should have strong software engineering skills, including Layer 1, 2 and 3 protocols. Experience developing real-time embedded software in C/C++ on the Linux Operating System is mandatory for this position. Experience using Agile development techniques is desirable as well as knowledge of SAOS. The candidate should be enthusiastic, innovative, self-motivated, a good problem solver with leadership and good communication skills. Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
