Network Engineer

Position Title: Network Engineer

Location:Regina, SK

Overview:

Charter is currently seeking Two (2) experienced Network Engineers to join our team starting July 2025. The successful candidate will bring 5+ years of recent, hands-on experience in day-to-day network administration, analysis, and design/architecture, in a large-scale corporate and SCADA network environment. Strong technical expertise with Cisco and Fortinet equipment, advanced routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), and data center networking (Spine and Leaf utilizing VXLAN with BGP, EVPN) is essential.

This role requires a deep understanding of network security and cloud integration, including configuring and maintaining resources in Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and AWS. Proficiency with Fortinet security tools (FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiNAC), load balancers, web application firewalls, and the implementation of security best practices is also required. Additional assets include experience with LTE, satellite communications, ITIL frameworks, and SCADA networks.

As an Enterprise Network team member, you will collaborate on architectural initiatives, optimize network performance, and ensure robust, secure connectivity across all environments. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to travel occasionally, and participate in on-call rotations are critical for success in this role.

Location: Regina, SK. Term: 9 months. Strong possibility of extensions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 5+ years of recent, practical network administration experience and design/architecture experience.
• Experience in Spine and Leaf data center networks utilizing VXLAN with BGP, EVPN,
• Experience designing, implementing and maintain various routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP and OSPF,
• Experience with Cisco's suite of networking equipment, including switches, routers,
• Experience with Fortinet’s suite of networking equipment, including firewalls, switches, and access points,
• Experience with Fortinet security tools including FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiNAC,
• Experience configuring and maintaining network resources in Microsoft Azure including virtual networks, virtual network peering, route tables, Front Door, WAF and network security groups.
• Experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience configuring and managing load balancers and web application Firewalls.
• Deep understanding and implementation of network security best practices.
• Experience deploying network technologies within organizational technology projects
• Additional experience with LTE and satellite communication technologies
• Experience with ITIL frameworks and Change Management processes
• Relevant experience in operating supervisory controls and data acquisition (SCADA)
• networks
• Active industry certifications are considered as asset.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) in English is required.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada.
