We are looking for a Social Worker to join the dynamic interdisciplinary team to help support Children and their families with crisis intervention, counselling, parenting education, skill building and advocacy. - Create and/or contribute to excellence in the family and stakeholder experience
- Providing Direct and Indirect intensive interventions to families whose children may be at risk of coming into care.
- Direct Services - in-home, face-to-face contact with the family
- Indirect Services – collateral contacts, telephone contact with family, stakeholders, and referrals
- Liaise with the referral sources and funders to build relationships and ensure children’s needs are met
- Provide written reports as required, ensuring all documentation in aligned with College and CBI standards
- Contribute to the team through collaboration, demonstrative passion for the work you do and using good judgement and integrity in decision making
- Provide ongoing evaluation of the family’s progress
- Engage in continuous learning and skills development
- Ensure all practices are conducted with integrity and in alignment to Best Practice and CBI policies, including Privacy policies
At all times
- Work in accordance with company health and safety guidelines and procedures; actively participate in safety initiatives, and promptly report any hazards or concerns.
- Ensure proper use of routine practices and use of personal protective equipment as required.
- Respect privacy and confidentiality of clients/caregivers/families and the health care team. Obtain verbal, or when required, signed consent to treat and ensure ongoing consent
What You Will Need To Be Successful
- Graduate of a recognized university Social Work degree
- Active Registered with SASW
- Ability to travel from house to house to facilitate in-person meetings with the families.
- Excellent communication skills – Verbal and written
- Strong understanding of Indigenous Culture
- Ability to work with a Diverse client base
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector Search
- Flexible schedule to work evenings and weekends
