What’s The Team Like The facility maintenance team ensures the smooth operation of all indoor spaces at the busy 24/7 airport, keeping terminals, offices, and other buildings safe, functional, and well-maintained. They handle repairs, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to support airport operations and passenger comfort. This team ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operations, supporting 24/7 airport activities and driving smart building initiatives. What Are Some Of The Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for terminal electrical power systems and fire alarm systems, ensuring safe, reliable operation across the airport terminal.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute electrical shutdowns and fire alarm isolations to support maintenance and capital project work while protecting airport operations.
- Assess electrical system impacts, risks, and interdependencies with critical systems such as IT networks, baggage handling systems, and passenger boarding bridges.
- Maintain and validate electrical and fire alarm documentation, including drawings, panel schedules, and system records.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external agencies to coordinate safe and compliant electrical work in secured and operationally sensitive areas.
- Respond to incidents, system faults, and emergencies, diagnosing issues and supporting timely restoration of electrical and life‑safety systems.
What Do You Need To Bring

- Graduation from an electrical apprenticeship program (journeyperson certification) is required.
- 4–6 years of hands‑on experience in commercial or industrial electrical environments, including planning and executing electrical switching, shutdowns, and isolations, with demonstrated exposure to fire alarm systems in large‑scale or mission‑critical facilities is required.
- Advanced technical analysis and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, arc‑flash studies, and system interdependencies to diagnose complex electrical and fire alarm issues and determine safe, effective corrective actions.
- Strong communication, judgment, and attention to detail, with the ability to clearly convey technical information, system impacts, and shutdown plans, while making timely, safety‑critical decisions and ensuring accuracy of switching plans, isolation documentation, and technical records.
- This role supports a 24/7 operation and includes a rotational on‑call requirement shared among the team.
- As this position is considered safety-sensitive, candidates must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as part of the hiring process.
- This role includes driving as part of its duties; therefore, candidates will be required to provide a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract as part of the hiring process.

- Bilingual in English and French
- Experience supporting electrical components of capital or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working in a regulated, 24/7 operational environment such as an airport or other critical infrastructure facility.
