We are currently seeking an experienced Credit Manager to join our team at our Head Office location in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Key Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate new credit applications, establish credit limits, and make sound credit decisions based on financial analysis.
  • Analyze credit reports, trade references, and payment histories to assess customer creditworthiness.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and collection performance to improve cash flow and reduce delinquent accounts.
  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies while maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Resolve payment issues, invoice disputes, and account discrepancies promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to balance customer service objectives with prudent credit risk management.
  • Recommend credit holds, payment terms, credit limit adjustments, and account reinstatements.
  • Monitor customer exposure and identify potential financial risks before they impact the business.
  • Coordinate third-party collections, bankruptcies, liens, and related recovery efforts when required.
  • Maintain accurate customer credit files and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare regular reporting on accounts receivable aging, collections, bad debt, credit exposure, and key performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and applicable credit and collection regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase operational efficiency.

QualificationsRequired

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, commerce or a related field.
  • 3 – 7 years of experience in credit analysis, accounts receivable, lending, or financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full functions of a corporate credit department.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis, accounts receivable, financial statement analysis, collections, and credit risk management.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience within wholesale distribution.
  • Industry experience in flooring, building materials, construction supply, manufacturing, or industrial distribution.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Certified Credit Professional (CCP) designation or equivalent professional certification is considered an asset.
