The Opportunity
We’re looking for our first Business Development Representative (BDR) to help accelerate the growth of our employer business. This is a high-impact opportunity to build the outbound sales function from the ground up while working closely with our Account Executives and leadership team.
You’ll be responsible for generating new opportunities through proactive outreach, engaging prospective customers, and helping build a predictable pipeline of qualified meetings. You’ll have the opportunity to shape processes, influence strategy, and grow into an Account Executive role as the business scales.
Responsibilities
- Execute high-volume outbound prospecting through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to generate new business opportunities.
- Represent BorderPass at conferences, trade shows, networking events, and other in-person opportunities to build relationships with prospective customers.
- Book qualified meetings with HR, Talent Acquisition, People Operations, and business leaders across organizations of all sizes.
- Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound leads, ensuring timely follow-up and consistent engagement.
- Build and maintain prospecting sequences, activity tracking, and pipeline management within HubSpot.
- Use AI-powered sales tools and conversation intelligence to identify customer trends, objections, and opportunities, sharing insights with the sales, product, and marketing teams.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activity and customer interactions.
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives to ensure a seamless transition from prospect to qualified opportunity.
- Continuously refine outreach strategies and contribute to building scalable sales processes.
- Develop the skills and experience necessary to progress into an Account Executive role.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a business development, sales development, lead generation, or outbound prospecting role.
- Comfortable making a high volume of cold calls and conducting outbound outreach every day.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Resilient, self-motivated, and energized by achieving ambitious goals.
- Curious, coachable, and confident asking thoughtful questions and handling objections.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using CRM software such as HubSpot is considered an asset.
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated success as a top-performing BDR or SDR.
- Experience selling SaaS, HR technology, legal technology, or professional services.
- Experience with HubSpot Sales Hub.
- Familiarity with Canadian immigration, international recruitment, or workforce mobility.
