Reports To: Dr. Tomi Mitchell, Medical Director
About Bonsai Medical & Aesthetics
Bonsai Medical & Aesthetics is a focused, intentional, wellness-driven and patient-centered clinic. We are here to create meaningful transformation for our clients—inside and out. Everyone on our team plays a role in delivering a seamless, respectful, and beautiful client experience.
This role is not for someone looking to coast through the day or wait to be told what to do. It’s for someone who takes pride in their presence, work ethic, and desire to grow within a purposeful environment. If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.
Position Overview
We are hiring a full-time Medical Office Assistant who understands that professionalism, presence, and cleanliness are non-negotiable. You will be a key part of our client experience—from front desk to back room. We’re looking for someone who is organized, self-motivated, emotionally intelligent, and not afraid to get their hands a little busy.
This role involves administrative duties, light clinical support, and maintaining a clean and efficient environment between patient visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Support light office cleaning and room preparation between patients.
- Assist with patient intake, vitals (e.g., blood pressure, weight), and measurements.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and follow up with patients as needed.
- Maintain proper organization of clinic spaces, files, and common areas.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with staff, clients, and leadership.
- Take initiative—know when something needs to be done and do it without waiting to be asked.
- Be physically able to move between rooms, assist with patient setup, clean surfaces, and stay on your feet when needed.
- Be open to learning on the job—you will be trained, but you must be receptive and adaptable.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Is emotionally mature, self-aware, and handles feedback with grace.
- Takes pride in being well-groomed, punctual, and presentable.
- Learns quickly and thrives in a goal-oriented environment.
- Understands that hygiene is essential, especially when handling patient care or working in shared spaces.
- Doesn’t need micromanaging. You know that while you're at work—you work.
- Can manage tasks independently while contributing to a supportive team environment.
- Wants to be part of a high-standard, client-first clinic and contribute to something bigger.
- Has a strong sense of accountability and respects the trust our clients place in us.
Qualifications
- Medical Office Assistant (MOA) certification preferred.
- Previous experience in medical, wellness, or aesthetic environments is an asset.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of clinic hygiene and confidentiality standards.
- CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
- Background check required. Credentials and references will be requested.
Compensation & Terms
- Above industry average pay.
- Future raises are not guaranteed annually and are based on productivity, contribution to the team, adaptability, and initiative.
- Full-time schedule
- Vacation and statutory holidays provided in alignment with Alberta Employment Standards.
- Opportunities for training and growth available based on performance and clinic needs.
