About the Company: Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a trusted multi-service engineering and electronics manufacturing company. Aversan delivers leading-edge and reliable safety-critical electronics and software systems to the aerospace, defence, and space industries.

About the Role: We are seeking a talented FEA/CFD Simulation & Design Engineer to join our growing team in Ottawa. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of advanced mechanical design, simulation, and real-world product development. You'll collaborate with a skilled team on high-performance solutions for rugged environments across industries such as defense, aerospace, telecom, and transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations for structural, thermal, and flow-related applications
  • Create, iterate, and optimize 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks, Creo, or similar tools
  • Contribute to mechanical product design from concept through prototyping, testing, and validation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and clients to deliver robust design solutions
  • Support qualification processes (e.g., vibration, thermal cycling, shock testing) and analyze results
  • Document analysis and design work clearly and professionally, including simulation reports and design justifications
  • Apply DFMA principles and participate in root cause investigations as needed
  • Provide analytical support and problem-solving expertise

Qualifications:

  • Education: Completed a Mechanical Engineering program or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in FEA and/or CFD simulation
  • Proficiency with at least one FEA/CFD tool (e.g., Ansys, FloTHERM, SolidWorks Simulation, FEMAP)
  • Strong 3D CAD modelling skills (SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent)
  • Experience designing for rugged environments (e.g., defence, rail, telecom)
  • Exposure to environmental testing or qualification processes
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and DFM/DFA best practices
  • Understanding of heat transfer, fluid flow, stress/strain, and materials behavior
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering drawings, standards, and documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

If you’re excited to apply your FEA/CFD expertise to real-world engineering challenges and grow with a company that values innovation and integrity, we’d love to hear from you.
