About The RoleAs ATB’s next Senior Compensation Specialist, you will work with a high performing and expert team to support ATB’s compensation philosophy and strategy by contributing to building, maintaining and improving compensation programs, practices and processes to support ATB’s culture and achievement of business results. You will report to the Managing Director of Compensation. This posting is for a highly specialized role and requires a senior compensation professional that meets all of the qualifications of the posting. We embrace a flexible work approach. While many of our roles operate on a hybrid schedule (typically 1 day in office per week), we understand that the best talent can come from anywhere. For candidates located outside of Alberta, we are open to discussing fully remote arrangements that would include infrequent travel to the office for key collaborative events. All work arrangements are subject to business priorities and may be adjusted. Accountabilities You Will
- Be the subject matter expert on compensation related matters; acting as an advisor and strategic partner to ATB’s People & Culture team and to client groups across ATB
- Co-lead pool-based short-term incentive plan, including calculating scorecard key results by collaborating with metric owners inside and outside People & Culture.
- Consult with the business on compensation strategies, delivering analysis, insights and recommendations for market competitiveness and incentive plans.
- Support organizational programs and processes for mitigation of compensation risk (including ability to attract, retain and incentivize team members), including administration of programs within guidelines of risk and governance requirements
- Have the ability to uncover business challenges and needs, and interpret Compensation philosophy and guardrails against those needs
- Gather data for analysis & decision-making with the expertise to know the source of meaningful data, including conducting market analysis by participating in surveys and networking to research the external market
- Analyze & interpret results and translate them into best application for ATB
- Have the ability to make impactful recommendations to support market competitiveness and talent retention
- Manage complex administrative requirements for compensation program execution across multiple teams
- Have digital literacy in compensation-specific tech and tools and participate in its development, specifically experience with SAP SuccessFactors compensation module
- Be dialed into market trends for compensation through data and networking groups
Skills, Experience & Requirements
- At least 8 years of compensation senior advisor experience
- Strong presentation, oral and written business communication skills with the ability to summarize compensation concepts in a way that resonates with specific audiences at various levels of the organization
- Proficiency to analyze & interpret data, identify & define assumptions and formulate recommendations, paying strong attention to detail
- Skill to design effective reward programs that achieve business strategy and positively impact the bottom line
- In-depth understanding of the holistic role total rewards plays in the employee value proposition
- Collaborative mindset; working effectively in a geographically dispersed team with a focus on connectivity
- Critical thinking and decision making skills, demonstrated initiative to drive deliverables forward independently, with confidence and expertise
- Digital literacy with demonstrated ability to seize opportunities for process improvements and technological efficiencies. Experience using Google Suite (G-Suite) is an asset
- Strong organizational skills with the flexibility to be agile; thriving in an extremely fast paced environment, managing multiple accountabilities and changing priorities
