Your Opportunity: The Service Worker II supports Biomedical Engineering Technologists in managing medical technology across clinical areas, including but not limited to the ICU, OR, Endoscopy, and Emergency departments. Responsibilities also include shipping and receiving medical devices, performing data entry, surplusing equipment, and assisting the department manager in verifying invoice accuracy. Description: As a Service Worker II, you will be responsible for readying supplies, and cleaning/disinfecting instruments and specialty equipment for immediate use/reuse by healthcare staff. You will distribute and replenish patient care supplies, perform quality control tests on equipment and record maintenance data. You may also transport patients (clients/residents), equipment, lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required. In addition, you will ensure that patient care areas and other assigned areas are accurately stocked and that specialty equipment required by the healthcare staff is available. Additional Required Qualifications: Must be able to walk distances up to 1 km, crouch, push wheeled equipment, and lift items weighing up to 25 kg to waist height. Basic familiarity with computer applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel is required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in inventory management, particularly with electronic parts, is an asset for this position.
