Role Description The Construction Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Edmonton, AB, overseeing the day-to-day operations of detached garage and garage suite construction projects. This role coordinates crews, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards. The Construction Superintendent will monitor project progress, manage site logistics, and resolve issues that arise during construction. They will review plans and specifications, conduct regular site inspections, enforce safety protocols, and communicate with clients and internal teams regarding timelines and project status. The role also involves tracking materials, assisting with cost control, and maintaining accurate site documentation and reports.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Construction Site Management skills, including coordination of trades, oversight of daily activities, and adherence to building plans.
• Candidates should possess Construction Safety knowledge, including familiarity with local regulations, enforcement of safety procedures, and promotion of a safety-first culture on site.
• Candidates should possess Organization Skills, including effective scheduling, documentation management, and prioritization of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidates should possess Budgeting and Project Management skills, including cost awareness, resource allocation, and monitoring project timelines and milestones.
• Relevant experience as a Construction Superintendent, Site Supervisor, or similar role in residential or light commercial construction. Practical knowledge of residential framing, concrete slab/gradebeam work, and reading engineered truss layout and other engineering elements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with clients, crews, and subcontractors.
• Proficiency with basic computer tools and construction-related software such as Construction Foreman for reporting and scheduling.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work and a willingness to travel as our geographical footprint expands.
• Trade certification, Journeyman Red Seal Carpenter or Framer designation and/or construction management diploma, or equivalent experience is considered an asset.
