Airswift is seeking a Production Technology Field Lead to work with one of our Oil and Gas clients on an 8-month contract position in Nisku, AB.
This role supports safe, efficient field execution and facilitates collaboration between Construction, Operations Readiness, QA/QC, and the General Works Contractor (GWC). The successful candidate will be integral in walkdowns, inspections, and quality verification activities tied to the Mitigation of Repeated Failures (MRF) program.
Key Responsibilities:Field Coordination & Construction Support
- Act as the primary interface between Operations Readiness and the project construction team.
- Participate in field walkdowns and inspections including cleanliness, accessibility, and alignment to design.
- Conduct pre-shipment inspections and participate in Punchlist sign-off.
- Ensure appropriate preservation measures are in place for equipment prior to shipment.
- Track construction activity and maintain inspection documentation.
- Provide piping labelling based on P&ID documentation.
Safety & Quality
- Act as a visible safety leader aligned with Scotford’s core values.
- Conduct safety and MRF program walks; communicate findings to relevant project teams.
- Support incident investigations through Learning From Incidents and Causal Learning processes.
Cross-Functional Integration
- Coordinate across Operations Readiness, Construction, Engineering, and QA/QC to resolve field and constructability issues.
- Support effective collaboration and alignment with the GWC and project leadership.
- Foster strong working relationships and communication with all stakeholders.
Special Challenges
- Manage complex interfaces between Project Engineering, Operations Readiness, and Construction.
- Demonstrate decision-making ability balancing Owner vs Project Management Team objectives.
- Apply a strong change management mindset to evolving project needs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Production or related fields.
- Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering certificate or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass Fall Arrest and Confined Space Entry training.
- Strong communication and coordination skills in a cross-disciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated leadership without direct authority.
- Working knowledge and experience in inspection processes, cleanliness standards, and preservation.
- Experience in commissioning or turnaround planning is an asset.
- Preference for candidates with operational experience in Hydrogen Manufacturing, CCS, Steam Boilers, and Water Treatment.
- Demonstrated Enterprise-First mindset and behaviors.
