Position Title: Warehouse Logistics ManagerDivision: AGI St. BonifaceLocation: 450 Desautels Street, Winnipeg, MB R2H 3E6About AGI AGI is a global food-based infrastructure company publicly traded in Canada. The Opportunity We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Warehouse Logistics Manager with expertise in running a Kanban system to oversee and streamline warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of goods, materials, and information through the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to meet customer demands. You will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Kanban system to improve inventory management and minimize waste. Responsibilities

  • Oversee all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
  • Ensure warehouse operations run efficiently, with a focus on optimizing space, equipment, and labor resources.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Implement and maintain a Kanban system to control inventory levels and ensure the smooth flow of materials.
  • Monitor Kanban signals to initiate replenishment processes and avoid stockouts or overstocking.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to align Kanban processes with demand forecasts.
  • Ensure accurate and real-time tracking of inventory levels using warehouse management systems.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Develop strategies to reduce inventory holding costs while ensuring material availability.
  • Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff to ensure high performance and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation in logistics processes and systems.
  • Allocate workloads and manage staffing schedules to ensure efficient operations during peak and off-peak times.
  • Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse efficiency, such as order fulfillment rates, cycle times, and inventory turnover.
  • Provide regular reports on warehouse performance, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to support just-in-time delivery strategies.
  • Lead initiatives to improve warehouse processes through Lean methodologies, with a particular focus on Kanban and Just-In-Time principles.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and best practices in warehouse management and logistics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management or logistics.
  • Proven experience in running a Kanban system, with a strong understanding of Lean and Just-In-Time methodologies.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
