Innisfil Job Fair Sees Over 600 Job Seekers Eager for Opportunities

Job Fair Highlights

Employment seekers flocked to the Lakeshore branch of the Innisfil ideaLAB and Library for the annual Innisfil Job and Career Fair on Wednesday afternoon. Hosted by the Town of Innisfil Economic Development Office in partnership with Agilec Innisfil, this event featured over 20 employers eager to connect with potential hires.

Mayor Lynn Dollin expressed enthusiasm, stating, "The town was happy to partner with Agilec ... we had more than 665 job seekers on site, pointing to Innisfil's ready and willing workforce."

DSV Solutions' Hiring Plans

Rob Chanona, managing director of DSV Solutions in Canada, shared that they anticipate hiring 200 to 225 people when their new warehousing facility opens in late July or early August. The facility is located near the Innisfil Beach Road and 5th Sideroad intersection.

Impressive Turnout

The event ran from 2 to 6 p.m., and within an hour, a long line of prospective employees formed at the DSV booth. Chanona remarked, "We’re very impressed with the turnout ... there’s a lot of interesting jobs in Innisfil, so we’re glad to be part of the new employment opportunities in the area."

Job Seekers Share Their Aspirations

Rajpreet Gandhi, who learned about the event on Instagram, applied for three jobs, specifically targeting roles as a machine operator. He expressed hope for a callback.

Amber Elliott, the marketing and content strategist for the town's economic development team, noted an increase in attendance compared to last year, which attracted over 400 people. "We had a really wonderful turnout... we’re just really excited to provide everyone the opportunity to both live and work in Innisfil."

Community Support

Elliott emphasized the importance of community support, stating, "If anyone needs help in the future, the Innisfil Economic Development office is always here. We pride ourselves on career development and hosting a variety of events."

Mayor Dollin reiterated the town's commitment to supporting local businesses by ensuring access to talent, showcasing how events like this job fair foster local employment opportunities.
