Job Details
As a Student Guide, you will:
- Work at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial and the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial.
- Conduct tours for groups on preserved battlefields and underground tunnels, explaining Canadian military history and engaging with visitors.
- Be comfortable working outdoors and in confined spaces for short periods.
Salary and Work Schedule
- Salary: Ranges from $18.42 to $21.13 an hour, plus a $30 daily allowance.
- Work Period: New guides will be employed from August 11 to December 12, 2025, while returning guides will work from August 4 to December 12, 2025.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply, you must:
- Be a post-secondary student meeting all FSWEP eligibility criteria.
- Possess public speaking skills and be able to communicate in English and French.
- Provide proof of:
- A valid First Aid Certificate
- A valid CPR certificate
- A valid Canadian driver's license or international driving permit
- Documentation for traveling and working in France (including a passport)
- Confirmation of current full-time student status (with Registrar's seal)
- A signed attestation confirming intent to return to school full-time next academic year
- A valid work visa for France
Additional Information
If hired, you will need to arrange and cover your own travel costs, but you may be eligible for a partial reimbursement of up to $1,000 for airfare after completing your assignment successfully.
