Major Job Creation in Ottawa
A new hotel and casino in Ottawa is set to create over 600 positions across various fields, providing a significant boost to the capital's economy.

Hard Rock Ottawa is organizing multiple job fair events to fill these open positions, which are structured like an audition, similar to what you might see on Canada’s Got Talent. According to Nannette Dean, VP of Human Resources, the job fairs will consist of four stages:
- Registration and pre-screening
- Panel interview to assess personality
- One-on-one interview to assess skills
- On-the-spot offer
Positions Available
Hiring will encompass various departments, including:
- Customer service
- Food and beverage
- Hotel services
- Table games
- Marketing
- Security
- Surveillance
- Slots
- Retail
- Valet
Dean emphasizes that they are hiring from entry-level positions all the way up to supervisory and management roles.
Work Environment
Rami Zok, VP of Hotel Operations, describes the work environment as all about fun. He notes that Hard Rock is a global company with over 300 locations worldwide, and the complex is currently under construction.
Economic Impact
According to Moshe Lander, an economics professor at Concordia, the opening of the new hotel and casino is a positive development for Ottawa, highlighting the significance of permanent jobs. He states, "Creating 600 stable positions is a great boost to the local economy, provided workers can find suitable housing, family doctors, schools for their children, and affordable public transportation."
Hiring Events Schedule
The hiring events will take place on April 22, and May 6, 7, and 22 at Casino Rideau Carleton, located at 4837, Chemin Albion. For more information, visit rideaucarletoncasino.com/careers.
