OTTAWA — Artificial Intelligence Minister Evan Solomon announced that the government's forthcoming national AI strategy will include a focus on tracking the technology's effects on the labor market.
It has been six months since the government concluded fast-tracked consultations on the strategy, which Solomon initially promised would be tabled by the end of last year. However, Solomon noted that the impact of AI has been evolving, prompting continued meetings and consultations with various groups.
Recent discussions have included labour leaders, environmentalists, and young people. Solomon emphasized that the strategy will adapt to the changing needs of the workforce and assured that it will be released very soon.
