The hiring period for the Canada Summer Jobs program has opened, with approximately 300 opportunities awaiting Sudbury job-seekers aged 15 to 30. A press release from Sudbury MP Viviane Lapointe states that from now until July 20, young job seekers can find local job opportunities on the Job Bank website and mobile app.
Program-funded jobs are full-time (30 to 40 hours per week), with a duration of 6 to 16 weeks (average 8 weeks). Since 2019, the program has supported employers to create more than 600,000 job opportunities for youth, including over 75,000 jobs in 2025.
âCanada Summer Jobs provides young people with meaningful, hands-on work experience that helps them build skills, confidence, and connections early in their careers,â said Lapointe. âAt the same time, the program delivers critical support to local not-for-profit organizations and small businesses. By investing in our youth and our local organizations at the same time, Canada Summer Jobs truly is a win-win for Sudbury and communities across the country.â
