Join our growing Earth & Environment team as a Junior Permitting Specialist, supporting diverse mining and resource projects across Western Canada. In this role, you’ll help shape responsible development by supporting environmental assessments, regulatory approvals, and sustainability‑focused project delivery that influences communities, ecosystems, and future generations. Your Impact
- Support project teams in understanding regulatory pathways and requirements for proposed mining and resource projects.
- Contribute to planning and coordinating social and environmental assessment activities across multidisciplinary teams.
- Help integrate sustainability perspectives into assessment processes and project documentation.
- Analyze environmental, social, and technical information to support impact assessments and regulatory submissions.
- Prepare, review, and edit technical documents, assessment tools, and supporting materials.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and scientists to ensure cohesive, integrated project outcomes.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- An undergraduate degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, resource management, or a related discipline.
- 0–3 years of experience in environmental consulting, mining, or the resource sector.
- 0–3 years supporting environmental assessments, permitting, or regulatory application development.
- Understanding of environmental and social impact processes across multiple technical disciplines.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset that thrives in multidisciplinary environments.
- Commitment to health, safety, and responsible field and office work.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.

#WeAreWSP CompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $69,700 – $92,300 MB & ON: $63,600 – $87,500 NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $62,900 – $83,600 Disclosure: The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
