Job Overview
Our client is looking for a seasoned professional with minimum 5 years of experience in land surveying and project management. The ideal candidate will possess a British Columbia Land Surveyor (BCLS) designation and have extensive knowledge in land development, engineering, and surveying. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing various surveying projects, managing teams, and ensuring the highest quality of work while meeting client expectations and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and completion of a wide spectrum of surveying projects.
- Provide direction to field and office teams, ensuring project scope, expectations, and timelines are clearly communicated.
- Offer mentorship, training, and support to junior and intermediate team members.
- Prepare project estimates, proposals, and contract documents.
- Collaborate with fellow Project Managers to schedule resources and review ongoing work.
- Maintain detailed project documentation and records.
- Monitor project costs, billing, and overall financial performance.
- Address project challenges and implement solutions as needed.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, external partners, and clients throughout all project stages.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships; support business development by identifying new opportunities and representing the company at industry events.
- Manage client expectations and ensure deliverables meet agreed quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
- Provide updates and information to senior leadership when required.
- Perform additional related tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of five years of experience as a British Columbia Land Surveyor and current membership in good standing with the Association of BC Land Surveyors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality or timelines.
- Strong background in legal surveys; experience with strata and airspace surveys is a significant advantage.
- Engineering survey experience including GNSS and conventional control surveys, as well as deformation monitoring is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Valid BC driver’s license.
