About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst, Energy to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the collection, processing, allocation, and reporting of utility and energy data across our extensive national industrial real estate portfolio. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing accurate, timely, and insightful data analysis that supports building performance optimization, regulatory compliance, and sustainability initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the Energy & Sustainability team and various cross-functional departments to manage large datasets from diverse sources, perform utility allocations using established methodologies, and support energy incentive applications to maximize financial benefits.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in engineering, computer science, data analytics, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience working with large datasets, preferably within energy, utilities, or real estate sectors
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and SQL
  • Experience with PySpark, R, or Python is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of energy benchmarking tools such as ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager is recommended
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage multiple data sources and deliver quality outputs under tight deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Collect and organize energy and utility data from sources including utility bills, submeters, and internal surveys
  • Clean, transform, and validate data to ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy
  • Apply methodologies such as weather normalization and occupancy adjustments to estimate missing data
  • Perform utility allocations for shared usage based on submeters, square footage, occupancy, and heating types
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to prepare and submit incentive and rebate documentation, tracking application status
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
  • Conduct detailed analysis to generate actionable insights on energy performance for internal and external reporting requirements
  • Support compliance with reporting standards such as ENERGY STAR, GRESB, and investor disclosures
  • Prepare recurring energy use reports segmented by customer, building, and portfolio, highlighting estimated values and data gaps
  • Work closely with property management and operations teams to validate data and resolve discrepancies
  • Partner with data engineers and analysts to acquire, clean, and structure data effectively
  • Identify opportunities to improve data collection and management processes for enhanced accuracy and efficiency
