About the Role

Are you ready to be a key player in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where your contributions truly matter? Winters Instruments is on the lookout for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our accounting team! In this role, you'll be— responsible for overseeing Winters Instruments accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective financial planning and analysis. This role leads the accounting function, supervises the accounting team, supports strategic decision-making, and works closely with senior leadership to maintain the financial health of Winters Instruments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (ASPE, IFRS, or GAAP) and regulatory requirements
• Oversee audits and coordinate with external auditors
• Maintain and enforce internal financial controls and policies
• Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expense management
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow monitoring
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Identify and implement process and system improvements
• Other duties as required

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation)

• The role typically requires sitting at a desk for prolonged periods, with occasional standing or walking throughout the workday.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other standard office equipment with precision and efficiency.
• Sufficient vision (with or without corrective lenses) to read computer screens, written documents, and digital displays, and to perform detail‑oriented tasks such as data entry or document review.
• Capacity to speak clearly and hear adequately (with or without assistive devices) to participate in meetings, phone calls, and day‑to‑day workplace communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
• Demonstrated experience with change management
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
• CPA designation or in progress
• Experience with payroll, preferred
• NetSuite experience, preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated ability to work within and lead a team, goal oriented
• Ability to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal and follow instruction
