Position Overview Under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital the Housekeeping Porter is responsible for performing various cleaning functions/services throughout all areas of the Hospital campus; understanding and following Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) guidelines; and performing other related duties as assigned. Experience Not Applicable Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Grade 10.
Certification/Licensure/Registration Not Applicable Qualifications And Skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact well with others.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt readily to fast-paced situations.
- Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, twist and reach continuously throughout the entire shift.
- Ability to lift a minimum of approximately 50 lbs./23 kgs.
- Ability to lift, push and pull heavy weights, climb ladders/skyjack/scissor lift.
