What We Look For In a College Political Science Tutor

  • Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of American government, comparative politics, international relations, political theory, public policy, research methods, constitutional law, and political behavior. Ability to explain separation of powers, democratic theory, realist versus liberal international relations frameworks, and quantitative and qualitative research methods while preparing students for advanced political science coursework and graduate study.

Adapts instruction using current political events, case study analysis, and research methodology guidance to support undergraduate political science students preparing for advanced coursework, law school, or public service careers.
  • Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
