Corporate Accounting Manager

CONTRACT: 12-18 months

SETUP: Hybrid, 3 days/week in office, downtown Toronto

About the Opportunity

Corporate Accounting & Close:

• Own and manage the corporate month-end and quarter-end close process
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Prepare and/or review statutory financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, related working papers)
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information across multiple entities
• Maintain and enhance documentation of close processes and key controls

Team Leadership & Oversight:

• Supervise and provide day-to-day guidance to 2 staff members.
• Review work prepared by direct reports, provide feedback and coaching, and ensure adherence to deadlines and quality standards
• Help coordinate workload, prioritize tasks, and support the transition period as the incumbent ramps down for leave

Systems & Process:

• Work extensively in SAP (heavy ERP usage) for postings, reporting, reconciliations, and analysis
• Identify opportunities to streamline corporate accounting processes and improve efficiency where possible
• Support maintenance of internal control documentation (including SOX-related activities where applicable)

About You

• Over 5 years of solid corporate accounting experience including ownership of month-end and quarter-end close
• Accounting designation
• Prior experience supervising or leading other accounting staff
• Prior SAP experience
