TransCanada Turbines (TCT) is the sole authorized overhaul, repair and maintenance service provider for Siemens Energy and General Electric (GE) aeroderivative industrial gas turbines, serving an expanding international client base. We are currently looking for experienced Inspectors to join our growing team. This position will be located in our Airdrie depot location. Reporting to the Team Lead, Inspection, the Inspector is responsible for the visual and dimensional inspection and dispositioning of Siemens Energy and General Electrical industrial gas turbine components and assemblies. Duties The duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Hands on inspection of the various product-type components and assemblies, ensuring that this work is carried out in accordance with the applicable OEM manuals, TCT specifications and procedures, and standard industry practices.
- Read & interpret engineering drawings, specifications, OEM repair schemes and associated documentation, as well as route cards and technical instructions etc.
- Measure and verify dimensions and tolerances of products for accuracy and conformance to specification.
- Perform the inspection of vendor repaired parts and parts purchased from suppliers, ensuring that these parts are appropriately tagged and dispositioned.
- Conduct light repairs including bench work, blending, de-burring & dressing.
- Liaise with the Team Leader to ensure that scheduled priorities for the engines going through the inspection department are followed accordingly.
- Ensure that the Inspection area is always kept tidy and orderly and that all parts are stored in accordance with TCT quality standards.
- Work directly with the Team Lead to establish timelines of work to meet challenging Operations Schedule.
- Take ownership and demonstrate enthusiasm and support of TCT’s Quality and HSE culture, increase knowledge of the policies, make recommendations on policy and procedures to improve shop productivity and profit of the company in general, and to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Take steps to correct any condition that violates these fundamental principles.
- Accurate maintenance of Inspection records in conjunction with the build records
- Other duties as directed by the Team Lead.

Company Requirements
- 4+ years mechanical inspection experience is required, however, a combination of experience & education will be considered
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing and industrial specifications and standards is essential.
- Ability to measure and read imperial and metric dimensions using analog micrometers, calipers and other tooling is required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a Team demonstrating good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills is essential.
- Planning, organizational, and analytical and decision-making skills are essential.
- Computer literacy, Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Previous experience with assembly/disassembly and/or inspection of gas turbines, aircraft components, automotive manufacturing/maintenance or other technical work is an asset.
- Other gas turbine product experience is an asset.
- Working knowledge of continual improvement, process excellence and lean principles is an asset.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Successful completion of a post-offer medical and drug test
