About Toppan Merrill Our Senior Engineering Managers see their team as their product. They are technically credible and know the details of what engineers work on, however their time is spent safeguarding their team's health, hiring a world-class team, and putting them in the best position to succeed. They own the delivery of product commitments and are always looking to improve productivity. They must also coordinate across departments to accomplish collaborative goals. This role is cross-discipline and will manage other Managers, Engineers, Quality Assurance, SREs and Scrum Masters. Responsibilities

  • Hire and build a globally distributed, happy, and successful team
  • Plan and execute long term strategies that benefit your team and the product stage(s)
  • Understand Engineering KPIs and seek to improve them
  • Conduct interviews for candidates, and train their team how to interview
  • Generate and implement process improvements, especially cross-team processes
  • Provide your team with management mentorship
  • Enable Product, Quality, and UX performance via partnership
  • Ensure psychological safety on your team
  • Give regular and clear feedback around the individual's performance
  • Improve product quality, security, and performance

Requirements

  • Exquisite brokering skills: regularly achieve consensus amongst stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Build teams that excel through our values
  • Technical credibility: Experience as a product engineer and leading teams thereof
  • Management credibility: Considerable experience as an engineering manager
  • Ability to understand, communicate and improve the quality of multiple teams
  • Demonstrate longevity at least one recent job
  • Ability to be successful managing at primarily remote company
  • Demonstrated successful partnership with stable counterparts
  • Exemplify diversity, inclusion, and belonging in leadership
  • Humble

We understand that your skills deserve recognition. That's why we offer a competitive base pay scale ranging from $181,000-$209,000CAN annually, based on experience and expertise. We also offer annual performance-based incentives. We believe in compensating our dedicated team members fairly for their hard work and commitment. Please note that actual salaries may vary within, above, or below this range based on factors such as education, training, experience, professional achievement, business needs, and location.
