What We Need We are currently seeking 1Full-Time Building Maintenance Technician, whose skills will contribute to our organisation’s mission. Reporting to the Manager, Technical Services, the incumbent’s role will perform a variety of duties that include the operating and repair of equipment, maintaining water quality, operating and maintaining various types of tools and completing reports and records as required, maintaining building and inventory of same, assisting in the training of employees and responding to other departments requests, maintain and carry out minor and routine repairs to installations, hardware, furniture and other equipment (filters, furnaces, pumps, heat exchangers, lighting etc.) which are in accordance with the established standards and procedures, while using safe work methods. What You’ll Do

  • Assist in maintaining proper water quality and control (includes water testing, pool fouling, pool vacuuming and adjusting chemicals to maintain proper water balance).
  • Open and close pools
  • Maintain accurate logs of pool maintenance activities, water quality tests, and chemical usage.
  • Carry out minor work (work that does not require the presence of an expert) in carpentry, plumbing, painting, construction, etc.;
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to established schedules;
  • Ensure par levels are respected for replacement parts, chemicals and other required equipment;
  • Check and perform monthly tests to ensure proper functioning of security, emergency, mechanical, electrical systems and fire protections systems;
  • Safely operate various types of hand and power tools as may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Profile neededWhat is the profile needed in order to be successful

  • High school diploma with 2 (two) years advanced vocational training or equivalent experience in maintaining building systems and mechanical equipment as a Pool Technician (Pumps, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Sprinkler systems, HVAC etc.);
  • Certified Pool Operator certificate is an asset.
  • Minimum 2 two years of experience in facility maintenance;
  • Knowledge in the operation of pool maintenance (vacuuming, water testing, and balancing pool water).
  • Pool equipment knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to actively integrate safety into work procedures and to flawlessly follow emergency procedures;
  • Ability to use maintenance equipment and tools;
  • Ability to display teamwork skills (autonomy, versatility);
  • Problem- solving skills; Tolerance to stress,
  • Be in good physical shape; ability to work outdoors during all months of the year;
  • Ability to reach, bend, and frequently lift up to 50lbs.

When 40 hours per week, variable (days, evenings, weekends, holidays) as required, on call rotation for after hour and weekends. What The salary is based on the pay scale and benefits in effect at Thermea Spa Village.
