Planner II – Planning & Scheduling
Location: Vancouver, BC
Duration: 12 months
Pay Rate: $48–$52/hr INC or $39–$42/hr T4
Candidates located in the Lower Mainland are preferred.

About the Role
The Planner II will support the development and ongoing management of a Level 4 (L4) Commissioning Schedule for a major shipbuilding program.
This position will work closely with senior planning team members and coordinate with stakeholders across Test & Trials, Production, Engineering and Supply Chain Management.
The role involves hands-on scheduling work using Primavera P6, including weekly schedule updates, progress tracking, logic changes, baseline changes, forecasting and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain portions of the L4 Commissioning Schedule, including areas such as main machinery and electronics.
- Manage weekly schedule updates, progress tracking and forecasting.
- Facilitate and support schedule progress sessions.
- Ensure activities are logically linked and properly integrated into the overall schedule.
- Coordinate with Test & Trials, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and other stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve day-to-day scheduling issues.
- Support the development and documentation of planning processes.
- Participate in key planning and commissioning schedule meetings.
Qualifications
- Diploma or technical certification in Trades or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2–4 years of experience working within a Planning/Scheduling team.
- 1–3 years of experience within a shipbuilding environment.
- PMP certification or similar is considered an asset.
Skills & Experience
- Experience with Primavera P6.
- Good understanding of planning and scheduling practices, processes and terminology.
- Some experience with Microsoft Project.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
