Detail Designer II, Structural

Job Title: Detail Designer II, StructuralJob Summary:

As a Detail Designer II, Structural, your main job is to create 3D models and drawings that help the team build large structures . You’ll make sure your designs follow standards and help solve any design issues that come up. You'll also apply lessons learned from past projects to improve future designs.

Main Duties:

• Create detailed 3D models and drawings for structural design.
• Work with other teams to make design decisions and solve problems.
• Prepare manufacturing information for all construction stages.
• Provide technical support to the production team.
• Help plan and track progress, including time and costs.
• Ensure all work meets quality and design standards.
• Perform other tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• A diploma, degree, or similar education in design or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in detailed design, preferably in manufacturing or heavy industries.
• Knowledge of structural design, especially related to large builds.
• Experience with vessels like research fishing boats, icebreakers, or naval support vessels is a plus.
• Able to write clear technical documents and communicate well with others.
• Experience using Cadmatic Hull software.
• Familiar with tools like Rhino, NavisWorks, and e-Share.
• Good at staying organized, even in a changing work environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Comfortable using computers and Microsoft Office. Able to handle basic software or network issues.
