Senior Accountant

Ongoing Contract Job Title: Senior Accountant Industry Sector: Building Materials Salary: $35+/hr. Location: Calgary, Alberta-in office Job :16817036About The Role Our private client in the building material industry is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role will be reporting into the Senior Accounting Manager and be responsible for the following, but not limited to: Responsibilities

• Handle full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare financial statements and analyze variances
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and intercompany accounts
• Support audits and prepare required documentation
• File GST/HST/QST returns
• Contribute to reporting, controls, and process improvements

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA (completed or in progress) preferred
• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
• Strong financial reporting and reconciliation skills
• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience

About You

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role
• CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred
• Experience with MS Excel is a strong Asset
• Experience using ERP systems such as Sage, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar
• Must be able to work in the office
