We are seeking an experienced Lead Architectural Technologist for a leading construction consulting company based in South Edmonton. This is a full-time permanent hybrid role.
Our client already has projects underway in Edmonton and the surrounding areas and is seeking a Lead Architectural Technologist to support their market expansion. You will be leading and delivering innovative architectural services for commercial and residential projects.
This is a full-time permanent hybrid position (with the possibility of working remotely after 3 months). Candidates should be familiar with design-focused, detail-oriented design and sustainable design principles, and have exposure to all phases of the design process.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to meet delivery deadlines and financial targets.
- Coordinate closely with internal and external teams, including clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies, to drive project progress.
- Oversee the preparation and review of architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Lead architectural project team to deliver high-quality design solutions that align with client goals, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Prepare and submit permit applications and coordinate with regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate with structural, mechanical, consultants and construction professionals
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring client satisfaction from project inception to completion.
- Identify and mitigate project risks proactively to minimize impacts on timelines and budgets.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high standards in project execution.
- Represent the firm at client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities, positioning the firm as a trusted partner in Edmonton.
- Work closely with the partners to establish a brand presence in Edmonton, including local business development initiatives and networking.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in architectural project management
- Professional Alberta Architectural license (AAA) is an asset
- LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification is an asset
- Ideally have been involved in commercial and residential projects, such as multi-family, distribution centres, car dealerships, warehouses, etc.
- Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to team and client interactions
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Building Code and applicable municipal bylaws (Edmonton and surrounding areas)
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and project management tools such as Microsoft Project
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong working knowledge of local approval and permitting processes.
- Experience in establishing and growing a team or office location is a plus
